Symptoms

• Sync fails with the error "Google token refresh failed"
• The Google account is marked as faulty in the app

Solution

1. 1Go to Settings in the app.
2. 2Remove the Google Calendar connection.
3. 3Click "Connect Google Calendar" and sign in again.
4. 4Run a manual sync to verify it works.

Symptoms

• Sync fails with a Moneybird OAuth error
• The Moneybird API returns a 401 or 403

Solution

1. 1Go to Settings > Moneybird.
2. 2Click "Renew connection" or remove and re-add it.
3. 3Check that the Moneybird OAuth app is still active in your Moneybird admin.

Symptoms

• Sync runs without errors but no hours are booked
• All events are skipped (0 synced)

Solution

1. 1Check that mapping rules exist under "Mapping rules".
2. 2Make sure the keyword in the mapping rule matches the name of the calendar event.
3. 3Check the configured period — the day may fall outside the range.
4. 4Click "Fetch Moneybird" in the mapping rules to refresh contacts and projects.

Symptoms

• After a sync there are duplicate time entries in Moneybird
• The same event was synced multiple times

Solution

1. 1TimeSync has built-in duplicate detection based on the Google event ID.
2. 2Duplicates can occur if you previously used another tool that synced the same events.
3. 3Remove the duplicate entries manually in Moneybird.
4. 4Make sure only one synchronization tool is active for the same account.

Symptoms

• Double-clicking the icon does nothing
• Windows shows a security warning
• The app closes immediately after opening

Solution

1. 1Windows SmartScreen sometimes blocks unknown installers. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
2. 2Check whether your antivirus is blocking the app and add an exception.
3. 3Uninstall the app and download the latest version via the official link.
4. 4Make sure you are on Windows 10 or newer.

Symptoms

• The app closes itself during or after a sync
• The sync runs but the app stops responding

Solution

1. 1Update to the latest version — auto-update works from the app itself (Help > Check for updates).
2. 2Check the sync log ("View sync log") for more details about the crash.
3. 3Report the issue via the button in the error message so we can investigate it.

Symptoms

• Time entries are booked on the wrong project
• An unknown contact is set as the client

Solution

1. 1Check your mapping rules — the first matching keyword is used.
2. 2Rules are checked in order. Move more specific rules higher in the list.
3. 3Click "Fetch Moneybird" to refresh the list of projects and contacts.
4. 4Edit the mapping rule and pick the correct project and contact.

Symptoms

• The daily automatic sync does not execute
• The scheduled sync is skipped

Solution

1. 1Check that "Sync automatically" is enabled in the settings.
2. 2The app must run in the background (system tray) for automatic sync.
3. 3Enable "Start at boot" so the app is always active.
4. 4Check the time — the sync runs once per day at the configured time.

Symptoms

• The app keeps asking for a license code
• "License invalid" or "License expired" message

Solution

1. 1Make sure you enter the license code without extra spaces.
2. 2Make sure your computer is connected to the internet during activation.
3. 3A license is valid for a limited number of devices — check your license management.
